WW While Breastfeeding

Weight-WatchersI just signed up today for the WW online program, wondering if anyone is using it while breastfeeding? Tell me how you are doing. How many points, I get 36 for breastfeeding..


A friend of mine gave me the regular stuff for ww cause I couldn’t afford to join on my own, but she didn’t have the ones with the guidelines for nursing. How does the points system work on that? She has lost like since Jan. but she is on and off, she slips a lot so that is still pretty good.

I am a nursing mum and currently on Weight Watchers and you get 10 extra points for nursing. I have 33 points per day and I have lost about 1 1/2 – 2 lbs per week and this is my 4th week. I go to the meetings and weigh in on Saturday mornings I love it because the new thing is any liquids are used towards your 6 8oz serving except alcohol of course and the new momentum plan works well also just about everyone in my family is on it and my sis has lost over 50lbs my dh about 20lbs but it works u just have to stick with it and have the support

I’m breastfeeding a 6 month old and since he is now eating baby food and I am nursing less I just lowered my points to 30. When I started I had 37 points I think. I have lost 31 lbs in about 6 mos. I started when my bb was 2 weeks. I’ve had to play with my points a little bit and see what works for my body. I loose about 1-1 1/2 lbs per week most of the time. It’s a great program, and I actually found the more I eat the more I lose. Its’ more about What you eat! I always try to use my points for the milk, and fruits and veggies first then I’m more flexible with the rest of my points-whole grains and protein. I think its the only program that factors in breastfeeding mums. That’s what made me check it out.

I also joined WW Online last week. I get 33 points and I lost 1.5 lbs last week. I am almost 7 weeks pp. This is my second round on Weight Watchers.

I lost 30 lbs, 3 years ago on WW and had kept it off until I got pregnant and gained a massive 57 lbs. I had lost 27 of it within two weeks, but stayed the same for 4 weeks. That’s when I knew I needed an intervention! Needless to say, I am exactly where I started and need to lose at least 30 lbs again :(
I am really familiar with cooking on the program and own 12 ww cookbooks! So, please feel free to ever ask me for a good one because I have tried many, many of their recipes!

A hopeful note is that it does work and I am excited to get back to my old body! I am also excited to have other mummies to do it with!

I thought about joining for a while but couldn’t afford it, so I looked for free groups that will tell you how to do everything.

I follow the plan and make sure that I eat all my nursing points. However, I am getting very frustrated as I have only lost 2.5 lbs in 3 weeks and don’t feel like it’s “working” because I am nursing this time round. As I mentioned before, I did this 3 yrs ago, and started at the same weight that I am now. And I lost much faster. I understand that because I am nursing, that I shouldn’t lose to fast. But this is way to slow for me! I get discouraged if I don’t see results faster!

I just wondered how everyone else is doing? And any tips from other B-feeders?

I will get 35 points. I can’t wait I went shopping tonight. My mum lost 95 pounds so I know it will work for us.

I have lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks ; )
